ready‐towear range as well as styling and image consulting services through
their online store on 3 March 2012. The aim of the store is to provide
convenience for women striving to maintain a work‐social‐home life balance,
reach their goals and look great in the process. Since its inception in October
2010, Floral Raffia’s key focus has been on providing custom made garments,
styling and image solutions to its clients.
The
launch will thus see Floral Raffia releasing its first ready to wear line. The
brand’s aesthetic speaks to women between the ages of 21‐35 who are simple yet
urban chic in their style. Owners of the brand, Phetola Mofokeng and
Lesego‐Tshepang Sedumedi describe the line as “Eclectic and versatile with
unique attention to the finishing touches”. They furthermore speak of the brand
as “Clothing that women will appreciate because of its simplicity and
elegance”.
Floral
Raffia garments are 100 % proudly South African. Each garment is individually
designed, and produced. Quantities are also kept at an exclusive minimum.
Therefore customers do not run the risk of purchasing garments that 20 other
people have purchased.

online store will be one of the few of its kind in the South African Fashion
retailing sector to operate not only within South Africa and Africa, but
internationally as well. With its competitive turnaround times in its delivery
of the garments, high picture quality in the display of the clothing sold and
world class security, the shopping experience on the Floral Raffia site is of supreme
quality and in a class of its own.
Floral
Raffia has recognised the online shopping space as a huge opportunity in the
Southern African market. Thus the key focus for Floral Raffia over the next 5
years will be to market and grow their ready to wear range through their online
E‐store.
The
online store will operate internationally with the capabilities to deliver
clothing ordered through its E‐store to Africa, UK, Asia and the USA. Floral
Raffia aims to be the largest online fashion retailer in Southern Africa in the
next 5 years. Floral Raffia is furthermore a “Business with a purpose”.
It aims to create on‐going and sustainable
social change by partnering with NGO’s. Thus a portion of the proceeds from
sales will go to a home called New Life Centre. New Life Centre is a non‐profit
organisation that rehabilitates teenage girls and women who were in the sex
industry and as well as those who are at risk of being lured into the industry.
