What Did They Say 'Bout Black Again?

This boy must have been on the generous receiving end of the line when they dished out melanin pigments and O’ boy did they DISH! He told me a lil’ hilarious tale that a few seasons back when he was in Germany the Europeans JUST couldn’t understand him! All they saw was “this gorgeous-dark-creature” they couldn’t comprehend and he became some sort out a hit within the circles. You know what they say: Honey you can go under the knife but you can’t  fake bone structure!

Victor ‘s got an amazing rare splendour; dark-fine-even-skin-tone, tall, structured strong jaw line, pearl white teeth (advantage of being dark, exaggerates the enamel) and well crafted nose bridge! What more could you ask for, someone snatch this boy and make something of him!!!

Ferocious Ghanaian Fashion Beast

Let’s just grab this bull by its pear and declare Mina Evans a SLAYER armed with a sewing machine! I was blinking at rapid rate of 350 nano-seconds per flick, with drool off my mouth flooding the floor whilst going through Mina Evans’s Male Collection Look Book earlier today.

I love the bold colours with the fusion of Ghanaian -Tribal prints;  prints are not nauseating nor look like Ghanaian-Patriotism vomited all over it.

I am in distraught need of the electric blue number seeing that hues of blues are reigning supreme this coming season. The Lemon-butter, off-white and the burgundy numbers are topping the Lust-List! Looks like the next pit-stop is Ghana!

Happy Shopping,  for orders email: mina.evans.a@gmail.com

Mpumalanga Fashion Week SS '11 - '12

It is back! Fashion Weeks of such calibres are worth a presence. Most unsung designers who slip under the radar are often the one with the best collections! I attended Mpumalanga Fashion Week last year and I was pleasantly surprised by the magnitude of   raw talent the designers possessed.

SCALO by Sello Medupe blew me out of my ID Book last year with his delivery, I was lusting after his pieces like a Bitch on Heat! I most unquestionably looking forward to his show this year. One other designer who had visually electrifying pieces was Thokozani Lloyd (TK) Mbatha. His designs are bold, futuristic and O-Soo-Filled-With-Drama!

I am proud of  Simphiwe Mtetwa for nurturing this project and embracing it one year at a time

Judging by the  PR images Mpumalanga Fashion Week SS ’11-‘12 is most definitely worth a calendar mark!

Model Star Quality

I judge Darren Struwig is potent in that European male model star quality, I can totally see him as a poster boy for Burberry, Dries Van Noten or Lavin. He photographs well and wears the clothes like a mannequin he was born to be!

Its figures like Darren I would like to see being casted for work,  they offer diversity to our monotonous market.

He was recently in London submitting his books and he told me a funny story that one of the agents told him that: “He is too tall for their market” without missing a beat I said to him: “O’ Honey their market is just too short for a vision like you!”

I heart his shots, they have a fragile-strong juxtaposition. For a photographer he is an ideal subject as he offers versatility and convey emotions clearly.

Someone snatch this boy and show us fireworks!

Most crucially we all know that modelling is like geometry; it's all about the line and shapes, filling them and striking them precisely and painstakingly!
