o.d.m - original dynamic
minimal-watches is a Hong Kong based company which has adopted a philosophy
that illustrates itself in original design, dynamic functions and minimal
artificiality. The quirky designer watch collection was established in 1999,
however in 2006 re-established its position as an ‘inno-trendy timewear” brand,
symbolizing their aim to adopt new technologies and design innovative
ornamental wristwatches.
To build a more distinctive orientation
in the market, o.d.m divides its products into two main lines: odm and o.d.m. original.
odm is the more fashionable, futuristic and trendy of the two, targeted for trendy youths
who are fond of bold, new and advanced designs.
Alternatively, o.d.m. original
aims at meeting the demands of young executives (age ranges from 25 to 35) who
are looking for something classy and unusual in the marketplace, thus this
product line features simple yet sophisticated designs for the more mature and
creative wearers.
In order to raise further
recognition in different categories, o.d.m developed an independent product
design team, odm+, to handle collaboration programs with various brands and
design units such as Coca-Cola, Looney Tunes, Astro Boy, Batman, Trexi, Jon
Burgerman, Michael Young, Devilrobots, Tim Yap, and Jean Charles de Castelbajac.
These watches target a niche group of young-at-heart, style driven and
design-conscious people in the worldwide market of watches.
o.d.m was the first Hong
Kong watch brand to participate in the Baselword in 2003. Since then they have
continuously taken part in the worldwide event along with other world class
brand names.
o.d.m has a long list of
international awards including; iF Design Award China and Germany as well as,
both Japan and USA’s Good Design Awards. In 2011 o.d.m won the Hong Kong Top
Brand Award which encouraged the brand in its pursuit of excellence to promote
Hong Kong products and to enhance their profile, both locally and
internationally.
o.d.m South Africa looks
forward to following the remarkable success of other international markets such
as Paris, Singapore, China, The United States and UK. o.d.m will launch into
select boutique stores from Winter 2013, with prices ranging from R930-R1850.
