Ernest Mahomane this is what you are going to do; you are slowly going to dissect your collection and take your time doing some post-mortem on it. Ask as many questions and as much feedback as possible on your pieces. The best people to ask would be a buyer, stranger or someone who can play the devil’s advocate.

Here is the trick - walk away as soon as someone tells you how much they ‘loved it’  your collection and how they thought it was ‘fabulous’ and how you are a ‘genius’ just walk away! You are an amazing designer (potentially at least).

This is your work and at this point there is nothing you can do but to OWN IT! Your next collection is going to blow us out of our ID books. I know this because I can see you got tons and tons of vision in the tunnel.

Someone was supposed to have warned you of these small little things that make a huge difference but they didn’t. Such is life. The milk has been spilt. These things happen.

Media Release | The Ndau Collection To Showcase At Prestigious Trade And Industry Show MAGIC

 The Ndau Collection have had the great honour of being selected as Emerging Accessories Designers and as such have been invited to showcase at prestigious trade and industry show MAGIC, held in Las Vegas from 19th to 21st of February 2013. This showcase will mark the official launch of The Ndau Collection brand in The United States, reaching buyers from all over the world over the three days of MAGIC.

In their own words, MAGIC is where the international community of apparel, accessories and footwear professionals trades information, previews trends, builds business and shops fashion unlike anywhere else in the industry. Each February and August, tens of thousands of attendees from over 80 countries meet more than 5,000 emerging-to-established brands to spark the strategic connections that become the relationships of tomorrow. Capitalizing on 78 years of experience, the show continues to evolve. Claiming 40% growth since 2009, MAGIC unites the largest and most influential network of buyers, brands, media and decision makers. With an average of nearly $200 million in per-day order volume and 67% of the top NPD buying teams in attendance, more business is done at MAGIC than any other fashion retail trade event.

The last 12 months have seen a huge growth in the Ndau Collection brand, culminating in this industry recognition of the fact that Ndau is capable of being a worldwide brand, whilst still being strongly rooted on the African continent. The Ndau team is in full production mode, creating new collections for the showcase, following on from their success in accessorising the beautiful South African songstress Zahara at the Victoria Falls Carnival over the New Year's festivities. The new collections will feature their signature eclectic mix of lost wax cast sterling silver, antique African trade beads with exotic skins and materials. The Ndau Collection will be represented by Christie Brookstein, one of the four member design team, who will meet with prospective buyers throughout the duration of MAGIC, followed by a private trunkshow in Los Angeles for Ndau Collection clients.
