International fashion model
Alek Wek, has been selected to represent Melissa shoes in their latest
campaign. The South Sudanese supermodel is the face of the Melissa “Rainbow”
collection, the images from the campaign are bright and colourful with Alek
styled like an African princess, in a techni-coloured Melissa rainbow, she
stands statuesque. The Melissa rainbow collection is now available at retail
stores from October through to March 2013.

P.S Beautiful campaign images. Evidently there
was a shit load of body shimmer that was involved in this shoot, wonder who was
the greaser! A lot of post-production manipulation work that went down here i.e
Alek’s complexion is far from that chocolate brown depicted on these images.
She has no skin texture which results in the images being ultra-flat and cannot
tell where her thigh and shin begin because that knee has been polished to the
bone! Fashion is an illusion after all selling hope!
I
had to chuckle when I read this line; “Alek styled like an African princess” –
really, wonder which African prices inspired this shoot?
