50% of the world’s population now live in cities. By 2050, this will reach 75%. Already, our cities account for:

• 30% of total greenhouse emissions

• Consume 33% of our resources, and

• Produce 40%of the world’s solid waste

We must find a more sustainable way of living and working. It’s one of the biggest challenges facing humankind today, but it also brings great opportunities in terms of tackling climate change and improving the quality of life in the cities.

WSP is a global design, engineering and management consultancy recognised the world over for our expertise in developing projects for the built and natural environment. We are passionate about transforming our cities to assure the future health and wellbeing of our society.

Fashion and Future Cities

Fashion is the future to interpret our society, to find, through great design, new ways to excite, provoke and delight. Anticipating the future, adapting to the environment, making use of the latest technology and materials- fashion is the reflection of the city and the society.

WSP would like to invite you to participate in their Future cities design competition. We are looking for a designer that can design three outfits inspired by three concepts: Water, Mobility and Social Responsibilities.

These concepts will be explained further to designers who accept this invitation.

What’s in it for you?

Apart from the media exposure the winning designer will receive the following:

• Your designs will be displayed along with international designs at the prestigious event

• You will get to address the media and other influential people about what inspires you as a designer

• Your designs will be sent abroad, receiving international exposure

• As a token of our appreciation of your involvement, WSP will give the winning designer €2000 (approximately R22 000)

• WSP will also contribute € 500 (approximately R5 500) toward the expenses of material required for the designs

We invite you to be a part of this influential event. Upon acceptance of this invite, you will receive a detailed brief in a face to face meeting.
