Founded in 2013 by Damian and Angela Goliath,
WoodiZ presents natural, sustainable and fashionable woodcraft to the streets
of Jozi. A Johannesburg based enterprise that is inspired by the way the youth
and the pop culture industry is transforming the streets of Jo’burg into a hub
of creative freedom of expression in various forms and mediums.
The WoodiZ team has a passion for
unconventional fashion trends both locally and internationally. “Our concept is
to merge our passion for wood and fashion, with our own signature style” says
Angela Goliath “Our goal is to provide affordable high end, high quality
products that are unique and eye-catching”.
Comprising of a creative and talented team,
and utilising “old school” machinery and hand craftsmanship, WoodiZ began its
primary range of wooden eyewear and bowties.
WoodiZ also has a strong belief in
sustainable economic growth and thus support the informal South African
business sector; by outsourcing and building strong relationships in support of
its products. WoodiZ also supports nature conservation by donating a percentage
of its profits to Greenpop a
social enterprise with a tree planting initiative.
This is just the beginning for WoodiZ, as it
plans to launch unique and exciting products in the New Year; Snap Back Caps,
Watches, Back Packs and more...all with epic wooden and African print elements
to them. WoodiZ will be launching its online store
just in time for Christmas so keep an eye out. In the meantime you catch them
at various Markets around Gauteng; Arts on Main, The Collective, Locrate
Market, Brooklyn Design Fair.
