“With MBFWA, Mina Evans is seeking to introduce the label to the
southern part of Africa while also using the SS14 collection to introduce the
new phase that the brand is currently undergoing - making versatile wardrobe
pieces for the international fashion loving woman without compromising the
signature touches that we are known for; the use of subtle beading, textures,
colours and simplicity.
The SS14 collection is made from delicate luxury fabrics including
lace, leather and textured cotton. The collection was inspired by a image of
butterflies nestled together and the butterfly effect on the pieces were
handmade using fabric to give them a 3D feel with African print.
The leaf inspiration on the pieces are laser cut using metallic hot
foiled leather and the leaf effect is also carried through with the
introduction of our neckpieces (new product line) in collaboration with
Sole Inspiration.
The colour scheme for SS14 include black, cream, light blue, peach, grey
and metallic gold and bronze. “ – Media Release
