Media Release: South African Style Awards 2014

Over the years we have showcased the glamour, success and unmistakable sense of style of some of SA’s most stylish personalities. The SA Style Awards, founded and coordinated by publicist Jillian Grogor, has become one of the most prestigious occasions on our fashion and social calendar.  It is dedicated to finding and celebrating South Africa's trendsetters, who  create a benchmark for excellence in their specific career paths.

Individuals who act as a source of inspiration for young people to realise that through hard work and determination they too are able to fulfill their dreams.

This year’s awards were proudly sponsored by Jaguar SA & MWEB WiFi and took place with a dazzling red carpet event and awards ceremony in the new fashion court in Hyde Park Corner, followed by a dinner and party at the Southern Sun Hyde Park Sandton Hotel. Guests witnessed a YSL Beauté Installation featuring a show by eight  designers (Craig Jacobs, David Tlale, Lauren du Plessis, Gert-Johan Coetzee, Malcolm Kluk, Suzaan Heyns, Thula Sindi and Elle Rising Star: Tamara Chérie Dyson) who are inspired by this Style Icon.

Every year our sponsors and judges unite in the search for South Africa’s most stylish people. The judges are handpicked from Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban and are asked to nominate two people whom they believe to be outstandingly stylish in nine different categories – the wild, the wonderful, the fantastic, plus tomorrow’s stars and last year’s trendsetters. 

Media Release : Hyde Park Corner Launches Cortina Court

“Hyde Park Corner launched their new Cortina Court with a spectacular red carpet fashion party. A Jazz pianist and performance by the ShooWop girls set the tone. Stand alone new stores include Emporia Armani, Versace, Paul Smith,  Jigsaw London, Luisa Spagnoli , Longchamp and a new concept Nespresso store

Luminance launched the fabulous menswear collections where guests enjoyed sexy Bisquit cocktails. An  eclectic mix of top business people,models , well heeled bloggers  top SA faces in film , arts and fashion descended down the red carpet. Guests enjoyed Champagne, Rupert Wines and Martini Cocktails served from a very sexy bar, delicious and innovative food , the gold inspired cheese and dessert installation was an art piece in its self.”

It was quite a fab situation, the best part of the night was walking around Luminace and being seduced by designer bags. I even tried on an amazing outsized JIL SANDER jacket in a jewel tone green (see image).
