Open Your Bottle To Open Your City With Heineken® x Rio And Jozi Collide At The Warm Up

Just in time for summer sipping, Heineken® has produced a range of limited-edition Cities bottles, each featuring one of 6 global cities: New York, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, London, Amsterdam and our very own - Johannesburg. This summer, Heineken® is inspiring consumers to live worldly adventures by unlocking the secrets of their cities.

Every Heineken® City Edition bottle will feature a unique code under its bottle cap. Consumers who enter their code via USSD to *120*222# will stand a chance to win a 72 hour, action-packed adventure in New York.

Heineken® kicked off their Open Your City campaign at The Warm Up in Maboneng, yes I was there with all my clique, squad and lovers for a young turn up! Heineken infused cocktails where on tap and camera flash were our applause

The event was held off the back of the limited-edition Heineken® City bottles, each featuring one of 6 Global cities: New York, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, London, Amsterdam and Johannesburg. Here is the deal, this summer, Heineken aims to inspire South Africans to live worldly adventures by unlocking the secrets of their cities. To celebrate the campaign, the global brand is hosting three epic music events in Jozi, bringing the best of Rio, New York and Shanghai to life and recognising Johannesburg as one of the greatest cities in the world.

The first #OpenJozi event was in the JHB city centre at The Warm Up, in attendance was the international graffiti artist, Fabio ‘Binho’ Cerqueira from Brasil who took to stage with renowned local graffiti artist Rasty. The international pairing came together creating a breath-taking audio-visual performance, combining interactive technology with performance, art and music.  The performance was facilitated by VJ (video jockey) and DJ team Afterlife, made up of Craig "Digital Lama" Shackleton and Wayne "Gravity South" Ellis Lee.

Adding even more global star power to the event Session Victim, a pair of devoted vinyl DJ’s from Germany, delivered a great “live” set using controllers and instruments.

Don’t miss more upcoming Heineken® #OpenJozi events -

Head Honcho AW 2012 LookBook

Head Honcho’s winter 2012 LookBook featuring their brand spoke persons Teko Modise, Lulo Cafe, AKA, DJ Speedsta, DJ Fanatic & DJ Franky.

I trust you familiar with the South African street brand Head Honcho, right? If not may you please click HERE and get familiar.

I am really feeling that grey melange, baseball jacket inspired cardigan with charcoal and red finishes Lulo CafĂ© is wearing, On The Money! It reminds me of this grey melange sweat top with luminous prints on it from their last collection. Yes the one I have been LUSTING for two seasons now, I must just make it happen! O’ and that Black + Purple + grey combo cardigan is Right-On-Speaking-Volumes!

The range is not nauseously street and grungy but rather borderline urban-preppy. Great key items you can fuse in to your everyday look and for that business affair. When going for that smart casual look with the items make sure you opt for the layering styling and pick an item with less pronounced branding to work with and Bob is your uncle!

I say it is; The League of the Urban Gentlemen. No? Doesn’t that sound right as a campaign tagline? Loves-It!

LookBook tad late some of us have already rolled out our looks for the season and did our AW shopping already and on to SS 2012. Remember next time, SS collection LookBook you release beginning of AW season and AW beginning of SS season.

Sorry I do not have the credits on who is the team behind the magic, should anyone know feel free to leave me a note on the comment section and I shall update in due course.

The collection will be available at SHESHA and select SPORTSCENE stores soon.
