Taibo Bacar honours Mozambique with an “A Luta Continua “ show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa

Taibo Bacar, one of Africa’s most renowned fashion designers, gave Africa a taste of what’s truly “A Luta Continua” when he revealed his 2015 PRÊT-À-COUTURE collection last night (29/10/2014) in Melrose Arch at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa.
Being the first  African designer to ever showcase at Milan Fashion Week ,Taibo remarked “we are really excited about this collection because we have gone back to the drawing board to capture the essence of fashion, trends in Africa and infused it with the Taibo Bacar aesthetic.
In the African fashion industry Taibo Bacar is considered a solid and sustainable pillar for the forthcoming years. The brand has won many international awards since its inception. It is a brand that is slowly conquering the world, always remaining faithful to its roots and forever valuing the timeless creations designed in Mozambique and Africa.

"ALuta Continua" is a collection that inspired by the current situation of Mozambique and the stage the brand TAIBO BACAR is, it represents, continuity, evolution, development and the future. It carries the history of the brand, it merges the two worlds of Taibo Bacar Haute Couture and Ready To Wear into one, as to say they both can tell the same story, dress the same woman. It is about merging the two worlds that together reflect the growth of the brand. It symbolizes the new era of the country, a new future opening up with lots of challenges and opportunities where we also have a role to play and a responsibility to help build and develop our own country and culture.

The marriage of fabrics, colour and accessories always plays a huge role in a Taibo Bacar collection; for PRÊT-À-COUTURE15 Taibo has infused hard and soft fabrics, experimented with colour and has drawn from tribal influences to materialise his collection titled “A Luta Continua”
