Chivas 18 celebrated its Modern Gentlemen campaign, as
well as the brands values – tradition, heritage, craftsmanship and
uncompromising quality – at a prestigious Chivas 18 Crafted for the Senses
event, held at the modern CIRCA gallery in Rosebank,
Explains
Johann van Zyl, Marketing Manager, Pernod Ricard South Africa, “Crafted by the
creativity of master blender Colin Scott, Chivas 18 marries 85 flavour notes to
create a unique whisky, both rich and complex in depth and flavour. Chivas 18
is intended to act as both a cerebral and sensory stimulation for the modern
gentleman, reinforcing the complexity of this remarkable whisky.”
“The
objective was to create a modern, luxurious experience that would emphasise the
fact that this award-winning whisky is specifically crafted to indulge and
please the senses.”
McDonald
Mabidilala, brand manager for Chivas Regal explains that the event encompasses
all the values of Chivas 18, “Charisma, character and entertainment are all
traits of this vibrant whisky and those who enjoy it. The stunning venue and
the theme of the event perfectly reflect these traits, and truly engage the senses
of our attendees.”
Gourmet cuisine
was on hand too, to scintillate the taste buds courtesy of Vicky Crease
catering. The dishes were specially created to complement the evening, and consisted
of a menu that included fine-dining dishes such as delicious poached prawns with
fresh fried scallops and fresh pea tendrils.
To engage the
sense of sight, limited edition Chivas 18 bottles were displayed on plinths
surrounded by mirrors, to display the bottle’s multiple facets, and a
commissioned Chivas Pininfarina 3 ice sculpture wowed the audience.
Guests were
also treated to a particularly special whisky discovery by Chivas Regal global
brand ambassador Max Warner.
Said Max, “It’s been several years
since I was in South Africa, so I was very excited about coming back and
supporting the Chivas Regal activations; especially the Chivas 18 crafted for
the senses experience. Whilst the Chivas Regal brand, as a luxury blended
scotch has a very strong global reputation, it is Chivas 18 specifically that
speaks to our modern man - specifically gentlemen - in a stylish and
sophisticated manner, suitable for the discerning palate of the high-end luxury
consumer.”
“It is our hope that all
our guests left satisfied and indulged, with a new-found love and respect for
Chivas 18, as well as a far greater understanding of the luxury and complexity
