What I like to refer as; the
universal footwear of unity - Converse announces the launch of SNEAKERS CLASH a
series of vibrant and colourful moments across Europe, the Middle East and
Africa.
Sneakers
Clash is designed to disrupt and clash against a grey world. In South Africa, Cape
Town gets set to clash on the 28th of February. Johannesburg will be next on
the 7th of March 2014.. Where SNEAKERS
CLASH will inspire explosive bursts of creative action
Wall
of Clash (reference to as #ClashWall
on twitter) will collide street artists with clashing styles at unexpected
locations – challenging them to unleash their most visceral work against a
dull, lifeless wall. It is here that they will be influenced by @Converse_Africa followers who
make suggestions on what to paint – forming a democratic yet chaotic
collaboration that will be anything but boring.
Where
will this be happening, you may ask?
Cape
Town: V&A Waterfront; 28 February – 1 March 2018
Johannesburg:
Braamfontein; 7-8 March 2014
SNEAKERS
CLASH is inspired by the winter 2014 Converse All Star sneaker collection,
featuring dynamic pops of colour and elevated silhouettes to provoke youthful
self-expression. Colourful tie-dye, bold colour blocking and striking archive
prints create stylish looks perfect for brightening up the spring season. The
undoubted hero of the collection is the Converse All Star Chuck ’70 – a new
take on an American icon.
The
new Converse All Star Chuck ’70 is released with two of the first prints ever released
on a Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker, with striking camouflage and the
glow-in-the-dark zebra patterns. The new Converse All Star Chuck ’70 will also
be available in six of the original 1972 colours in high and ox silhouettes,
all featuring heavy grade canvas uppers, a smaller toe box, reinforced canvas
heel strips, premium nickel hardware, thick cotton laces and a cushioned
sock-liner for added
Available
