The DFF is the
platform for local Durban designers to promote their creations to the local,
national and international fashion buyers, VIP’s and media at large! Durban
fashion has a big future. This was the message from
Sindi Shangase, Business Support Program Manager for the eThekwini Municipality
Business Support, Tourism and Markets Unit.
The Durban Fashion Fair, due to take place from August 22 – 25 at
the Durban Exhibition Centre proudly presented by
the eThekwini Municipality’s Business Support, Tourism and Markets Unit.
This year will feature fashion
shows that will present garments by young designers who have been selected for
an internship in one of the world’s fashion
capitals, collections by those who have returned from internships in Milan
after DFF 2012 as well as ranges by established well known designers such as
David Tlale, Gavin Rajah, Thula Sindi, Kathrin Kidger, Amanda Laird-Cherry,
Philosophy by Jenny Button, Ruff Tongue, ZARTH, House of Monatic (Viyella) and
House of Ole.
An international fashion
house will also be hosted at DFF 2013 and, as soon as the negotiations have
been concluded, the name of that top overseas designer will be announced.
