466/64 is giving the spotlight over to brilliant brights and African-inspired patterns and prints for its menswear and womenswear winter collections now in store. The global fashion brand is already known for reflecting the different hues, textures and incredible energy of Africa in its clothing, but Winter 2013 sees the design team of Barbara Tosalli and Chris Vogelpoel take that even further.

Barbara’s dynamic, new Winter 2013 collection allows women to reinvent themselves and update their wardrobes with ease. The collection includes several “must-have” items – among them the aquamarine cocoon coat, printed blazers, body-contoured pencil skirts, feminine chiffon printed blouses and dresses. “We continue to celebrate a confident woman in the exciting styles, colours, textures and prints selected in our collections,” comments Barbara,

Menswear is similarly giving men what they need to make a bold statement this winter.

“Our popular golfers have just got even better, with multi-stripes, broad stripes and polka-dot versions – and of course – our chinos in stone, navy and tobacco make for easy winter wear,” explains Chris.

Since 466/64’s inception, Chris has been known for cleverly weaving in the iconic inspiration that Nelson Mandela brings to the brand through the clothing – and Winter 2013 menswear is no different. “We’re really excited about the statement blazer in navy, that reiterates Madiba’s ‘Never Again’ message in a bold lining,” Chris says. “We are a fashion brand with a purpose and part of that purpose is to take forward Nelson Mandela’s humanitarian legacy.

Other highlights of 466/64 Winter 2013 include blazers in turquoise and orange, with more bright detail in the lining; a double breasted melton coat that reflects the brand’s sophisticated and timeless style, and knitwear in a range of colours including a standout black and grey graphic block version.

Womenswear also reflects Barbara’s unmatched ability to unearth contemporary fabrics that reflect the bold, creative and sophisticated feel of the range. Winter 2013 sees these used in several day dresses, with maxi dresses – like the Ink Jet printed animal satin dress and the off the shoulder African watermark print dress – continuing to make an appearance. All items in 466/64’s Winter 2013 collection feature superior tailoring and quality – as expected from a homegrown clothing brand making a splash on the global stage.
