Jerri's Style Projects

This is my much beloved look from the Mika Stefano “GP Gossip Gangster” shoot I styled and art directed. Let’s talk the style look:

Give me just-above-the-waistline-length leather jacket in a precise fit and a structured cut, urban jungle print scarf, a pair of blue classic denims and a pair of military boots with character and we good to go! Now if that look description did not leave your mouth watering and an immense urge to get dressed up and hit the streets there is TOTALLY something wrong with YOU!

O’ yes the plan-for-one-but-get-a-combo prop situation do look debonair in their sleeveless leather numbers too; they are undeniably a shot enhancer. A little trivial info the combo is also known as "The Twins On Decks" amongst their circles.

SHEER GENIUS!

Vael Project Deckard Boot

I know, I know... these are like 5 seasons ago but nothing seduces my feet better than a pair of combat boots! A look paired with rugged-military-boots-with-character never falls short, well at least if you know what you doing and if you DONT feel free to consult me will make this one pro bono.

I love, love, love these!

Jerri's Style Projects

I just couldn’t decide which shot to share with you. So I will leave the decision making process to you; who would you rather vanilla or dark chocolate, chicken or beef, Max Mmethi or Francios Nel?

The piece that made this look was the bespoke Gert-Johan Coetzee turquoise jacket with the rocker-esque spikes & studs embellishment. Primarily I was not cray-cray about the jacket when I saw it but like they say it’s the inner beauty that matters; I was sold when I saw the lemon-green lining. It just adds character to the jacket, definitely a hit worn with the sleeves rolled up to reveal the inner beauty.
I had to add a dash of glam by throwing in a sequenced infinity scarf in to the works.
So motion of the ocean here is: this entry is not about noir or blanch but the lemon-green lining.

Jerri's Style Projects

You know what they say purple means royalty, well amongst other colour connotations. In this case we dealing with online and style royalties.

I heart this look: the beret, the shoulder feather detail on the double breast blazer and the floral scarf. It all just looks right; effortless yet so daring.

All That Style Talk About Town

“The 21st century’s answer to Charlie Chaplin brings loads of style with rolled-up high waists and a powder blue shirt. Check out the accessories!” That’s what Heat Magazine Start Style (http://heat.co.za/star-style/sa-fashion-week/6855/ ) had to say about my look.

I'll just leave it at that, it is HEAT Magazine Star Style Fashion Report after all

Yolandy Masinga Reeking Style

Spotted Y, at SA Fashion Week S/S 2011 stealing the show before the spotlight even lit the runway! I have to admit after seeing this ensemble I knew it was going to be very rigid for any girl prancing about  Fashion Week to electrify my corneas.
A  silk-satin, floor sweeping length maxi skirt with pockets (Forever New), Black lace boudoir corset (YDE), an aged leather exaggerated Salvatore Ferragamo clutch purse and O’ YES the iconic black leather Hermes H Logo belt  with a gold logo to accompany the gold neck piece and a charm bracelet, with a pair of black platforms (Zoom).
O’ you do know that wasn’t all right? As if this ravishing look wasn’t complete she had a cropped leather biker jacket just in case it got nippy! The leather jacket sealed the deal, fragile meets rugged juxtaposition.
The little fashion leprechauns that singled out this look for Y must have been in a first-rate mood!

Lindiwe Suttle Is All About Cray-Cray Style

I went super cray-cray, BESERK when I saw this number. Lindiwe is graciously strutting up “THE LIST”; Jerri’s List of SA Fashion Icons at a constant pace.

This ground-breaking piece is designed by Petro Steyn owner of  brand called Skeet--- the interesting material used is foamed neoprene (that’s the same textile of a wet suit)

I got my money on you L and I do not enjoy loosing. Keep it BEAT!

Jenna Dover Brings Out The Urban Jungle

I am obsessed with Jenna Dover, love her! O'yes and I have sported her around town in her girl next door look too: a pair of skinnys, Tee, light knit sweater, out-off-bed hair look and leather brogues in Hyde Park doing some grocery shopping and she was still looking BEAT!

SA Fashion Week S/S '11 : Loxion Kulca

I did NOT see this one coming; Loxion Kulca blew me out of my ID book with this story in their collection. For some few justifiable reasons I am upset and feel cheated that Istarted  paying attention to LK only recently, I have seriously been sleeping on it.
I am FFT collection, I Love Love Love it especially the seven looks above. The grey mélange formal-casual short-shorts, the above the knees washed-out-denim-shorts with enchanting prints, the plunging neckline Hevage revealing structured shirt, the delicate see through detailed shirt and the leather sandals, the sandals JUST made it for me!
As you know I am big fat sucker for all things bright and neon but the intricacy of the grays, whites, stone, gold in this collection got me all warm and fluffy from within.
I am going to go right ahead and borrow from The Rachael Zoe Dictionary and say: “I-DIE”

SA Fashion Week S/S '11 : Ephymol

Tommy Hilfiger, Americano, Preppy, Nautical & Striking Reds! That’s what I thought of this ready-to-wear collection.
Love the dominance mixture of white, navy blue and the striking reds. Three basic colours that one can play around with to mix and match with their everyday clothing items. Fitted pieces with a preppy-boy look vibe yet the look can be pulled off meticulously at the office
The nautical story came off strong but not nauseating.
My outmost favourite is the first look, there’s just something about it. The fabric has the Hawaii vibe meets whiteboard-marker-scribble. It’s hard for me to explain but I will try It is like; I am off to the beach yet I am too tailored for the beach, cocktails on the roof top is what I am dressed up for. I guess that’s what’s intriguing about the 2 piece garment; it is super constructed that a wrong model choice, slight stitch mistake would have completely ruined this magnum opus.
When I saw it I closed my eyes and chanted it was totally hard for me to keep my front row seat composure and not hysterically scream and clap my hands.
Great Work Ephraim Molingoana

SA Fashion Week S/S '11 : Amanda Laird Cherry

When the first model walked past me I first noticed the accessories than the footwear. Thereafter my focus was only directed to those two aspects of the looks.
I immediately shut down and thought the collection was forgettable.
By the fifth model my eyes started getting drawn to the garments involuntarily; these words began rolling deep within my comprehension: Innocent, Delicate, Feminine, Fragile, Warm and GENIUS!
Above are my five obsessions from this collection but most of all I am cray cray about the footwear and neck pieces!
P.S Amanda if you happen to come across this blog may you please DHL me 5 of those neck pieces? Delivery address available upon request. Thank You in advance

Mika Stefano vz Beyonce Knowles

When I saw this image of Beyonce aka Sasha Fierce aka Sasha Warrior strutting her thang ceremoniously in the street way weaing a Thiery Muggler creation with a backdrop of vegetable steaming testosterone following suit; I instantaneously conceptualized on how best to interepret this concept on one of my future projects.

When Mika Stefano asked me to style and art direct his shoot I knew I had my work cut out for me. Whilst working on the mood board and conceptualizing the shoot, we both looked at the image, looked each other in the eyes and screamed!

Sheer Genius!

Mrs. Jacobs, Fashion Royalty On Estrogen

The new eloquent developments on Mrs. Jacobs, shot by the forever name dropped renowned fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier. I think it has to do with the fact that his last name is so sexy to pronounce. It make you roll around your tongue in a mushy appetizing manner that leaves you truly feeling like you are of the French descendant.

This is not about Mister. Patrick Demarchelier but Mrs. Jacobs’s spread in the second issue of Industrie Magazine.

I love this shoot ubber berserk, drag on estrogen! I simply can not ignore this, I will make a mental note "Inspiration For My Next Styling Project"
